      Sources and Rates

      TROOP sources accommodation through:

      Source: The source depends on what has been selected in your travel policy. If you're unsure about what your administrator has chosen for you, you can review and edit your travel policy. See how by going to Setting up a Meeting 

      Rates:

      • TROOP displays the cheapest rates with free cancellation that a hotel has to offer.
      • The rates displayed indicate the availability for a maximum of 8 people. Therefore, if a meeting has more than 8 attendees, we utilize the following formula: Cost per attendee * Total Attendees.

      Rooms:

      • The number of rooms displayed is not the total capacity of the hotel, but the amount of rooms which Booking.com would have access too which they have then chosen to make available through their API.
        • E.g. The hotel could have 100 rooms, Booking.com could be allowed to sell 80 of those. They then choose to have 50 available through the API. Troop would be showing the 50 rooms.

      ⚠️ The tool does not pre-select an accommodation for the shortlisted destinations but gives an average cost of the hotels available. The estimated cost is based on the number of hotels and the radius of hotels to include in the average. Both are set in the travel policy.
