Accommodation

Everything you need to know about viewing, filtering, and modifying accommodation in TROOP.

How to access accommodation information?

Go to compare destinations and scroll down to the accommodation section.

Before selecting your hotel, you'll see the average nightly price of hotels in the city.

📍 The number of hotels included in the average calculation is determined by your travel policy set by your Admin.

If you are the Admin and wish to modify this, please visit Travel Policies for more information.

TROOP calculates the total nights needed for all meeting attendees, considering if travelers arrive a day early or must extend their stay due to flight schedules, and includes these as shoulder nights in the results.

How to select a hotel?

📍 Selecting a hotel does not initiate any booking requests; it's solely for cost estimation purposes.

Within the destination details, you have the option to select a hotel to get a more accurate cost estimate for your meeting. Watch the video below for a step-by-step guide:

⚠️ You can only select one hotel per shortlisted destination.

Use the search bar to look for a specific hotel. If you are still looking for your ideal accommodation, you have five filters

  • Rooms: number of rooms in the hotel.
  • Distance: distance from the option selected in the travel policy: office, city center, or airport.
  • Price: minimum or/and maximum cost per attendee for the meeting.
  • Star rating: minimum or/and the maximum star rating of the hotel.
  • Out of policy: show or hide hotels out of policy.

📍The room count in TROOP reflects the number of rooms Booking.com can access and offer through their system, not real-time availability.

Only hotels available during your meeting are shown.

You can also choose a hotel by hovering over the map. TROOP displays various city areas using a heat map. At the bottom right of your screen, you'll find four icons, each representing a different area type: Sightseeing, Restaurants, Shopping, and Nightlife.

Click on an icon to view areas that match these categories, and the heat map will adjust accordingly.

Once you've identified your hotel, click "Select" on the right side of the hotel card. This will refresh the Shortlist comparison page with the total cost of the selected accommodation, improving the accuracy of your hotel cost estimation for each destination.

You can also add an accommodation manually:

Local Attendees

You have the option to decide whether to include local attendees in the hotel accommodations. Simply activate the option on the destination card. To enable the local attendees toggle, you must first select a hotel. This ensures their stay is factored into the total accommodation cost.
